Yes. Almost like they feel obligated if they laughed the first time they automatically signed on for the second time.

It's bad enough that I find out I've paid money for a badly-acted, puerilely-scripted piece of special effects trash; then someone, or ten someones, starts laughing at the titles...
That's the last straw as far as I'm concerned.

Huh. When I go to the movie theater, the audience NEVER reacts to a commercial or preview of any sort.

I agree with you on this one. I think the fact that it's familiar, and you know it's supposed to be funny makes all the difference. It's all about the canned laughter. The fake clapping and laughing they use for the previews. It convinces everyone that part SHOULD be funny! Good question!
