Both are interesting..the theatrical ending is more effective in terms of leaving you with something to think about. However, I really like the unexpected touch of humanity shown by the Dark Seekers in the alternate cut.
I'd have a hard time choosing one over the other, but if pressed, I'd go with the theatrical ending.
