Question: Why Do People Make Fun Of The Movie "Mommie Dearest" To This Day!?
This was the first PG movie I got to see as a kid!.
Back then PG was one step below R rated movies!.
I don't think it was overacted too much if not at all!.
And Faye Dunaway did a excellent portrayal of Joan Crawford, IMHO!.
Sadly, she's embarrassed to this day about it and refuses to talk about it!.
It's a good look back into cinematic history that seems to be easily forgotten but has laid a foundation for good movies today!.
So why is it more of a butt of jokes and not seen as a good older movie for all the movie buffs that remember it!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

You sort of answered your own question!. It's the butt of jokes because people say it's hilariously over-acted!. It also began being marketed as a "camp" film when studios realized it was making money that way!. People were bringing wire hangers and Ajax cleaner to the film with them and participating in "Rocky Horror" manner, it now is just considered a cult/camp classic but is not taken seriously!. That doesn't mean it's not an important film or that it hasn't changed the history of film!. Www@Enter-QA@Com
I'm not sure because I saw the movie and thought it was a good portrayal as well!. I love classic movies and though I don't know everything about Joan Crawford, from what I've read the depiction seemed pretty accurate to me!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
