They actually are making a movie!. It will be done by JJ Abrams (Lost, Alias, Cloverfield, Fringe, the new Star Trek)!. They arent sure if it will be a single movie, a series of movies, a made for TV movie, or a series of made for TV movies!. I dont now how it could be compressed into a single movie, but I think Abrams could do it well!. I wouldnt trust many people with doing that though!. I hope for a series of R-rated theatrical movies!. That would be just plain awesome!.

I heard once that King turned down George Lucas for making the movie because he said that he didn't think our special effects and CGA are up to it yet!. I also heard that the recent comic books by Marvel Comics are to serve to prepare the market for a movie release, but all this is just rumor and not from a reliable source!. Personally, as a huge fan of the books, I don't believe a movie could do the books justice and, like the godforsaken Twilight, would make the whole franchise seem campy and cheesy!.( Twilight gets decent in chapter 13, but the movie never redeems itself!.)Www@Enter-QA@Com
I have been wanting to make this into a film for a while now!. But i would cast all unknown actors!.
Selfishly, i kind of hope that they do not make it into a film, although i think it would be a GREAT film IF DONE CORRECTLY!.
I have my own mental images of how i perceived everything as i read them, so i am biased about it!.
Edit: If he could lose the British accent, i think Daniel Craig would be a perfect Roland!. But i would still want unknowns, if possible!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
