On a stratocaster, what is the difference between the different bridge styles?
Some strats (current American Standard) have rectangular saddles at the bridge, others have more "open" saddles (Highway One, most signature models). What is the difference between these two bridges? Is one superior to the other and which is considered the more classic style?

I didn't realize there was a major difference. I think you noted the differences there. a lot of artist models tend to have more "classic" styles, but I think they're both good bridges.
