Any suggestions for songs for a funeral?!
Question:
Any suggestions for songs for a funeral?
My uncle who was 50 passed away, and I was asked to sing at his funeral. He like oldies, in the era he grew up in, from the 60's and 70's, so i was hoping to find a song from one of those eras. And I do not want it to be something so overdone like Amazing grace, or my heart will go on or anything like that. Preferably one that I would know, but obviously none of you could know what i know, so just throw some out there. thanks
Answers: sorry to hear about your Uncle, can't imagine how that feels.
as for a song to sing....here's a couple ideas...
Eric Clapton - Tears in Heaven
Kansas - Dust in the Wind
Boyz 2 Men - It's so hard to say goodbye
and since i'm trying to think of others, I'm drawing a blank, sorry. or maybe try finding out what his favorite song was... or what his favorite band was and pick a song from that band. I know a song that isn't from the 60s or 70s. But it truly is an amazing song, "The Scientist" by Coldplay I would go with something like "Cat Scratch Fever"-Ted Nugent
or say "Miss You"-Rolling Stones or anything by Neil Young "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong.
-And, while singing it you could show pictures, on a screen, of him throughout his life.
-You could title the showing such as "The Wonderful Life of..." for example.
-(I hope this helps; I wish you my very best, and my condolences to you and your loved one.)- 'in this life" by Israel Kavakavivaole or brother iz from that era i would recommend the beatles "come together"
i dont know if that would be a good suggestion but its a good song that people can get together and remember a loved with. Uhm Here are some I like:
In My Life - Beatles
Knockin' On Heaven's Door - Bob Dylan XD
All you need is love - beatles
the weight - the band
