Holy Moly! All of those were AWESOME.
Unfortunately, I couldn't hear the Dave Murray solo very well. But I know how talented he is. IRON MAIDEN has always played extremely proficiently. Dave Murray and Adrian Smith are incredible.
Of course, DIMEBAG DARREL was always a brilliant guitar player- may he R.I.P.
Kirk Hammett- it's well known that he can really jam.
Eddie Van Halen, Jimi, and Jimmy Page are also all guitar gods.
Oh yes- Randy Rhoads. He was a Chieftain, as well.
Modern metal (in general) is lackluster compared to these bands. But there are a scarce few guitarists left who really know how to play their instruments...people like:
1. Joe Satriani
2. Eric Clapton
3. Steve Vai
4. Karl Sanders (of the death Metal band, NILE)
5. The guitarist from Dream Theater, whose name escapes me
And a few others, as well.
Guitar solos are becoming more obscure as time wears on.
personally, my favorite one was the page and stairway to solo only because i love the live version of stairway to heaven. anyway, i agree with you that modern rock pretty much sucks with bands like FOB who basically play a couple power chords and call it a day. im a bassist and any time someone tells that the bassline from dance dance is hard i was just wanna shoot myself. my favorite bassist is JPJ because Zeppelin was actually made up of talented musicians
