Is Kiss a Great Rock n Roll band or just Great Music Entertainers?!
Question: They just dont seem to get alot of respect on here and all and I know they arent the greatest musicains besides Ace, so I feel that they are Great Music Entertainers. but love their songs.

KISS is one of the greatest rock and roll bands on this planet. (And no, I'm not a member of KISSArmy). Their songs, image, and stage theatrics epitomize what rock and roll is about, and that's "feeling good", whether it's sex, booze, loose women, fast cars, loud guitars, or just partying. I have seen KISS twice, and even though the tickets were priced higher than average and the shows were virtually the same, the energy that they produced in the hour or so they were on stage was virtually unmatched by bands with members half their age. When you can draw a sell-out audience of aging baby-boomers and kids just out of diapers and all of them are having a good time at your show, you know you have done something special in your career.
So, I guess I would have to say that KISS are both great entertainers and a great rock and roll band.

They are a great commodity and master showman and sales man. Gene is a marketing genius! watch Celebrity Apprentice, its wonderful! their music may not be the best but there isnt anyone that I know that doesnt know their songs!
Kiss has managed to create some great music even if they didn't mean to. Most of the negative comments are from people who've heard Simmons and Stanley admit that they created a band just to get laid. Most of the people making those comments have heard a hand full of tunes and do not realize there were better tunes not played on the radio. It's all opinionated bull crap that shouldn't matter if you like Kiss, The Bloodfarts, or anyone else.
That rumor about their name isn't true and the logo wasn't intended to indicate they were Nazi sympathizers. A lot of people thought the design of the "SS" looked too much like the "SS" used on the uniforms for the secret police. It's highly unlikely since three of the four original members of KISS were Jewish and one of them was the son of a Holocaust survivor.

They don't get a lot of respect from the critics but having over 30 albums that all went either gold, platinum or double platinum and being the biggest selling American rock band has to say something.
Actually they are both..I have seen them 3 times77 -78 -81-They were always musicaly entertaining.Always a great stage show
i think kiss to be much more entertainers than musicians, i really never felt like they were musically inclined for the most part...they obviously knew what they were doing but the quality of the work is not as good i don't think as someone like ac/dc where the sound was truly revloutionary
