Which way should I turn the truss rod?!

Question: I was wondering, which way should I turn the truss rod. In my case, when the string is held down at the first fret and held down at the very last fret, there is a space between the neck and the string somewhere around the 7-12 fret.

So which way should I turn the truss rod? This is not a telecaster guitar.

"Typically" to tighten is clock-wise and to loosen is counter clock-wise. Tightening will straighten, loosening will give it more bow (gap). However I dont know what you have, so please see http://www.athensmusician.net/archive/20...
