I think they're under some kind of weird dellusion that your points can be exchanged for cash at the end of the month.

it's because they want the 2 points for answering. Its a shame they waste the askers time by using the for points but ppl do it. It annoys me to se it aswell because of al the good questions i see on here.

because some parents don't give their kids enough attention so they turn into douche bags that have to find a way to get noticed so they make asshole comments and pester people. Or they're just bored I guess.
