Well, they thought they were dating the same girl but in they end they found out that the 'same girl' who they thought they were both dating in reality had an identical twin.
Hence, Usher was dating one, while R.Kelly was dating the other

well first it's like usher and r. kelly are on the phone with their girlfriends and neither of them can see them. then usher and r. kelly are on the phone talking about how r. kelly met this amazing girl but once he starts describing her, usher realizes that they are dating the same girl. then the two meet up and they're telling each other about how they met her and how their first date went. then they are playing basketball and are just talking about it. soon they come up with a plan to show that girl that they know she's playing them. they decide that one of them calls the girl and asks her out on a date and on that date both of the guys will arrive and she'll be discovered. however as it turns out they weren't dating the same girl but rather they were dating twins. awkward. for the lyrics go to leoslyrics.com.

Kelly is seen in Chicago calling Usher at his home in Atlanta, telling him about a woman that he is in love with. As it turns out, Usher is dating the same girl as Kelly, who ends up flying out to meet up with Usher in the chorus. As the second verse begins, Usher picks up R. Kelly at the airport and the two talk about how they each met this girl in their home towns. Eventually, as the two play basketball together, the two come up with the idea to call this girl out on her lies, and show up at dinner with her together. However, at the end of the video, it is revealed that Usher and R. Kelly weren't dating the same girl, because the girl just happened to have an identical twin.
