I just watched this vid yesterday and I think it is a very compelling answer to your question.
I have been pondering myself how can I love myself more and not rely on friends/bf for happiness. I think the key is to have goals and plans and be really into them, so that when you make progress on those plans and goals you feel happy. Secondly you should know your needs and try to satisfy them. Don't stuff yourself with the food that is just "OK". It is better to eat less, or less often, but something that you really like. It is good to go hungry for a while and then eat, that way you enjoy your food SO MUCH MORE.
Take yourself on a trip if you like traveling. Go to a spa salon. Go for a walk. Clean up your house, make it pretty - that's where you live, it deserves to have the things that you enjoy using. Think of your childhood heroes, get their pictures and put them on the walls, so that you know it is YOU who lives here, not some other dude. Let your creativity shine - do murals, get some art that you realy like, bring stuff from travels.
Same goes for your body - love it, clean it, pumper it, give it a workout. You wouldn't leave a dog without a walk, why would you leave your body without a workout it needs and enjoys?
Give your soul what it needs - if it needs Jesus, go to Bible study; if it needs rock music - take it to the concert; if it needs great literature - take it to the book club.
