Question: i pride myself on being a fan of all genres. this was not always the case, but for whatever reason i started absorbing everything. its a reason why i frequently ask for music suggestions. so........give me a band that you would like to tell me about (and the other members of R&P). post a link on youtube if you can...
heres mine: Old 97's. talk about em alot and a big fan of theirs. i hate genre labeling, but i suppose they are alternative-rock-country. they are releasing their 7th studio album in may. this is a song called "Barrier Reef" from their amazing album, Too Far To Care. the performance, i believe, is from 1998 (only youtube performance i could find of the song!).

I LOVE Old 97's --they are so under-appreciated!! Been a fan for a long time. I love "Fight Songs". too good!
I like shoegazing, ambience, experimental, indie, alternative . ..
One band I think you might like if you are someone who can expand their musical horizon lol is Sigur Rós. They are an experimental/ambience band from Iceland. Their music like nothing else.

Well, having been owned our own DJ service, my hubby and I fans of a LOT of music! We have everthing from Elvis to Yanni, and I mean everything in between! Right now, Fuel is playing in the background, and I have K-Love(Christian) on the car stereo. A pretty broad spectrum. I enjoy music for the music, not for shock, and don't not listen to certain music because of the lyrics or messege.
I like all genres except jazz. I worked in a record store for 7 years so that helps.
I love Portraits of Past. I got to see them back in the 90s when they did their one and only tour.

To really appreciate music I think you have to be openminded to appreciate the great rock classics such as Led Zeppelin to folkies like Jim Croce, or Bob Dylan, the Beatles, Maroon 5, JOhnny Cash, Al Green, Old 97's, REM, George Strait, Frank Sinatra, Pink floyd, Van Morrison, Santana, Janis Joplin, Amy Winehouse, Alicia Keyes, Stevie Wonder, rolling Stones, The Cars, dire Straits, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Marley, Foo fighters etc.........the list is endless, you won't know what you are missing until you listen to as many different genre's as possible.............theres a lot of great music out there
i appreciate anything with a great beat.
