I think Mark Wahlberg has made the transition well from music to movies!. I think he's a terrific actor considering he started as a rapper!.
Gerard Butler used to front a rock band in Glasgow before he was an actor and he's my total favourite!. Amazing actor that guy!.

Wow - both Mark Wahlberg and David Bowie have done great - Even Paul Simon in One Trick Pony was very good!.

I'm going to go with Bowie in "The Hunger"

- but I may change my mind, later, when I have time to think!.

EDIT - also Bowie in "Basquiat" and I forgot Tom Waits in Dracula, too!! - he was pretty off-the-hook!. LOL

I'd also like to take my hat off to the Rap-community -
Ever since Ice-Cube in Boyz in the Hood and Ice-T in New Jack City - There has been an upsurge in these guys playing totally "believable" characters - maybe the I'm being a Cuturalist - but it could have to do with "pulling on the emotions" of their own life(!?)

The best of all of them was Tupac Shakur - He was so "natural" in Gridlock and showed signs of being a great actor, IMO
