What is the best method to reduce saddle height on ac. guitar?!
Question: What is the best method to reduce saddle height on ac!. guitar!?
I am installing new plastic saddles on two acoustic guitars!. I have already fitted the saddles for thickness and width!. Now I must adjust for height!.
I know it is best to cut from the bottomside so that the clean, crowned side is used for the string contact points!. What is the best method to trim the bottomside!? Shave it with a file!? Cut it with a saw!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

I always use sandpaper- just make sure you apply even pressure along the entire length!. It's super easy, and takes only a few minutes!. Go slow, check it often until you have the desired height!. What I do is put the sandpaper on a flat surface or use a sanding block, and rub the saddle on the sandpaper, not the sandpaper on the saddle!. This will help ensure even pressure!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
If I were you, I would probably take it to a local guitar shop and have it professionally done, just to avoid risking taking too much off of the saddle and ruining the guitar altogether!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
