It's not about either being "better"!. Both places have good rappers and bad rappers!.
A good rapper is a good rapper, regardless of where they were born or where they live!.
I do get fed up of ignorant statements like "you've only got Lady Sovireign" though!. That's coming from someone who knows nothing about UK hip hop at all!.
If you don't like UK rap, that's cool, each to their own - but don't just declare it's somwhow inferior unless you can back that up with an educated opinion!.

Truthfully UK has Liverpool FC so therefore it wins any battle of the Countries with that alone!
For my truthful money I like both and in fact would probly be more inclined to pay money for a UK release thn a US one!.

UK Hip Hop is grittier and American Hip Hop is a lot more polished with high production!. I prefer the states because they have high production and underground Hip Hop!. Gotta say though, I do like some British Rap artists too!. Props to the Brit artists for getting the message out there!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!. just don't try and sound American cos that blows!.
