What are some soothing classical songs for a small child to sleep to?!

Question: What are some soothing classical songs for a small child to sleep to!?
My 6yo son really loves music!. Recently, I put on some Sade and he was out by the second song!! He has a toy guitar that plays 'Fur Elise' and he loves it!. What are some other soothing classical songs that I could play for him!? also, if you know of any CD's for children, feel free to include those as well!. *****Note*****I am not looking for any radical, scary, guitarized versions!! Thank you all for your suggestions!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I definitely recommend the "Baby Einstein" series, particularly the Mozart edition!. These videos, intended for infants and young toddlers, explore creativity with visually stimulating images, accompanied by numerous piano pieces by Mozart!.

Here is the link to their webpage:

For sound only, I recommend you the Mozart sonatas, recorded by Mitsuko Uchida(she has the best quality, though it isn't mandatory)!. Mozart's piano sonatas are captivating, elegant, and simple!.

Here are some Mozart sonata recordings:

Bach will do as well, though I prefer Mozart!. Bach's Goldberg Variations(particular the Aria) are excellent!.

I am confident in that you will be satisfied!.

The lullabies (or, 'Wiegenlied' in German) by Schubert and Brahms are always beautiful!. There's another one attributed to Mozart - Wiegenlied, K350 in F major - but which is actually composed by someone else!. It's beautiful too!.

Here: http://www!.youtube!.com/watch!?v=s-vRepWs_!.!.!.

Schubert - Wiegenlied Op!.98 No!.2: http://www!.youtube!.com/watch!?v=oBsPFKRPR!.!.!.

Brahms - Wiegenlied (Karl Simrock) Op!.49 No!.4: http://www!.youtube!.com/watch!?v=08yw_Se3M!.!.!. (harp arrangement); http://www!.youtube!.com/watch!?v=uvO-v4u5D!.!.!. (cello + piano); http://www!.youtube!.com/watch!?v=a2a25VlLs!.!.!. (ocarina version)

Schubert - Ave Maria Op!.52 No!.6: http://www!.youtube!.com/watch!?v=aQVz6vuNq!.!.!.

Mozart - Laudate Dominum K339: http://www!.youtube!.com/watch!?v=tGBGJ8Y6g!.!.!.

These were all originally written to be sung, but because they're so well-loved, there are many arrangements (particularly for the lullabies) for different combinations of instruments!.

Other possible choices:
"Deh vieni non tardar" and "Porgi amor" from Mozart's opera "The Marriage of Figaro"
"Caro mio ben" by Giordano
"Lascia ch'io pianga" by Handel

Feel free to email me for more pieces/songs!.!.!.!.I need some time to think about them, lol!Www@Enter-QA@Com
