All of them play "real music!." People on this site are always, and I assume it's out of hyperbole and not just out and out ignorance, mistaking something not being "real music" for simply music they don't like!. My sort of rule is that if something can be construed in any way as music it generally will be!. You could look to some basic components like melody, rhythm, composition, etc!., but "real music" is an incredibly large umbrella!. Good or bad are good or bad, neither really points at real or not!.
As a qualifier, I guess I could say that I've worked in studios, played music for years, made records from both sides of the glass, loved music for years, etc!. I think honestly to answer this question it is simple logic!. Anyone who would honestly try to say that any of those aren't music is being the worst type of fascist!. An ignorant one!.

All music is real, even the Jonas Brothers produce real music, it just happens to be, in my opinion, of a low quality/talent!. There is no such thing as "fake music"!. People tend to label music as not being "real" just becuase they don't like it or the genre!.
I have the authority to judge any artists' music who decide to realise it to the public, and form my own opinion on it!. However, i don't have the authority to call it "fake" just because I don't like it, and I don't have the authority to badmouth other people's opinions about it!.

Real Music is Real People playing their Real Instruments Themselves!. Pretty straightforward I'd say!.
With the possible exception of The Jonas Brothers (They don't play their own Instruments I don't think) all the Bands You listed are real Music, even if they aren't all My style, or even very good in all cases!.
What makes me an authority!. I am a Musician descended from Three Generations of Musicians!. I play three Instruments at Virtuoso Level!. And have played them for 30 years!. My Mother was a Concert Pianist, there isn't a piece of Classical Music written She couldn't perform brilliantly!. My Father did session Guitar work for Hank Snow and Hank Williams Sr!. My Uncle has a Bluegraas Band with nearly 20 CD's out and has played on Albums for Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs!. I know Music and I know the Music Industry!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

"Real" Music has to have a good strong bassline, a strong guitar riff, pounding drums, meaningful lyrics, and a great vocalist to sing those lyrics!.
Of course, "real" bands can't be afraid to throw in a piano, or cowbell, or something else!.

I am the authority of my taste and what I like!. Imho, real music is music that comes from the heart,it touches the soul!. Music that is written by the band (not outside writers) reflecting their moods,emotions etc!. It has substance!.Its music that the band created for themselves,not for the masses but the fans can relate to it!.Its not hyped,or shoved down peoples throats in the hopes of selling lunch boxes!. Its not sponsered by a corporation!. The artist wasnt told that they "have to have a ballad to sell more albums"!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

From your list: The Who, Nirvana, and Zep all make good music, the others I'm not too particularly fond of!.!.!. they just aren't my cup of tea!.

It's a matter of how good and how creative the music is!. It's a matter of taste and opinion!. Some music is just terrible other are Good!. In my opinion (out of this list) the best are:

That depends on what you mean by "real"!. Technically, all of those bands play real music, because it is not literally fake!. However, if you mean it the way you think you mean it, then I will continue on with my answer!.
To me, real music to me has some kind of message or purpose!. And it doesn't sound like every other band that is currently popular!. It is unique!. It's got something about it that stands out and makes it special!. It is inspires other bands, and leaves its mark in music history (can't be a black mark!)

The Who: Yes, real music indeed!. Legendary, as the Ramones were!.
