How do I get into rock music? ?!
Question: How do I get into rock music!? !?
I believe that in about 4 years there is going to be a huge movement in rock music, kind of like a new subgroup!.!.and I want to be a part of it!. I have been playing guitar for about 5 years, but I havent moved out of my room!. I want to make myself more noticed, but I dont know how to get started, especially since I live in Texas!.!.!.I live near Houston, but the drive is still long!. I dont know what I need to do!. I really like Ska music and want to join a ska band similiar to No Doubt!. Ive tried musolist and all those websites, but no luck!. Everybody around here wants to play metal!. : (Www@Enter-QA@Com

Well, if that's what you want, you must face the fact that it won't be easy but, it's worth to struggle!.
Don't worry about the fact that people around you wants to play Metal, if you keep searching, you will find someone open minded enough to play your style of music!. You mustn't be discouraged by the fact that it might gonna be long!.
Then, concerning the distance for some rehearsals, you should talk about it with the musicians you will find, cause, it will certainly not be easy for them neither, so, you'll have to find some compromise!.
Then, to be noticed, well, make several rehearsals to play something good and try to play in pubs, some music fest, events in your city or in the surrounding, and any other occasion to play your stuff and to get noticed!. also, you can film your rehearsals to make people discover your music on the Internet!.
Actually, there are many ways to make a rock band and get noticed, you just have to have 2 important things : Passion and Patience!.
- Keep searching for musicians (Internet, rock mags, newspaper!.!.!.!.)
- Make enough rehearsals to play really good music
- try to make as many live shows as possible to spread your name or the name of your band!.
- also, spread all informations about you and your band on the Internet (news, videos and!.!.!.!.sounds, of course !)

Just find some friends, or ppl at your school that like to play music, and make a band!.
Or join the guitar class, or band, and see if theres any ppl there that might want to!.
Oh and btw, I live in Houston, Texas, and theres tons of different styles of bands at my school!.
So you should have no problem finding them, just look closer!.

maybe you should try getting into a metal band and adding ska riffs and influences!. A lot of the best music lately is a mix of styles!. Plus you will be playing and networking, as you meet more musicians you will find more who share your tastes!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

that's what i'm trying to do!. i am a guitar player in florida at the age of 15!. hey man texas isn't to far from me!. i am forming a grunge band similar sounding to nirvana!. i am trying to bring the grunge era back!. so just play more!. i think listening to the music definetly get's you to want to play it more!. i have a radio in my room and i'm always listening to music everyday!. no doubt!? well their not so great as far as publicity!. here are just my suggesstions of songs!.
