Answers:
Mono and Stereo pressings of Beatles' albums, at least, always had minor differences for some of the songs!. However, the differences were usually due to earlier fade outs in one version in comparison to the other, as was probably the case of "Got To Get You Into My Life"!.!.!.

However, other songs had different sounds mixed in the Mono version that were not included in the Stereo version, as was the case for a few White Album songs, most noticeably in Back In The USSR, where certain effects are heard in the Mono version that cannot be heard in the Stereo and vice versa!.!.!. this was due to the OOPS effect, where basically some tracks got mixed in a way that you would hear sounds on a simple mono mix because they are purposely hidden in the stereo mix!. You can play around with this by screwing around with speaker hookups on a stereo receiver while playing the stereo mix and forcing a mono channel allowing you to uncover the sonic blemishes that were supposed to be hidden in the first place!.
