I thought he only wrote four.... Rachmaninoff's 5th piano Concerto?!
Question: I thought he only wrote four!.!.!.!. Rachmaninoff's 5th piano Concerto!?
Answers:
Its based on one of his symphoniesWww@Enter-QA@Com
This is an arrangement (and a recent one at that) of Rachmaninoff's Symphony No!. 2 for piano and orchestra by Alexander Warenberg!. The idea for the project came up in late 2000, and this recording was released just this year (May, 2008)!.
So Rachmaninoff didn't write a 5th piano concerto; someone else "created" a piano concert using Rachmaninoff's Symphony No!. 2!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Rachmaninoff's symphony just got rearranged!.!.!.Oh joy another piece of music ruined!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I guess someone transcribed the symphony for the piano!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Azucena is spot on!.
In answer to what I make of it!?
Unbelievable arrogance!
Here is a chap who imagines he hears something lacking in Rachmaninovs second symphony and then has the temerity to attempt a re-arrangement of it for the piano, something never hinted at even being contemplated by Rachmaniov!.
What the hell!
Is there a shortage of piano works for him to enjoy, just by Sergei alone!.
I wouldn't mind so much if It was even an honest transcription in the style of Liszt,
it is not
rather it is a chopping and changing based on the whims and imaginations of one man run amok!.
I would rather stick this fellow in the stocks for an hour for even thinking such thoughts let alone reward such crass indulgence with an album release!.
Just my humble thoughts of course as a Rachmaninov fan!.
