Question: Why is ACDC so popular!?
i think they wrote a few good songs!. but a lot of people i know hate the Jonas brotehrs because all their songs are like 3 chords repeated throught the song!. Isnt that what a lot of acdc songs are (with a few exceptiions and guitar solos)!? the only difference in my eyes is that that type of music was new when they started out and they were respected for that!. but i think if a band today was to write songs like acdc they would be criticized for being bad musicians!. what they write their songs about - a good majority of the jonas whores songs are about "oooh i love you baby lets stay awake forever" those kind of songs are okay, but they need to step away from it more often, all their songs sound the same!.
ACDC doesnt necessarily wirte about better stuff, but all of the songs are different!.

An old saying goes: "You'll never go broke appealing to the lowest common denominator"!. it's easy, basic, fun hard rock!. Personally, I think they totally lost it when Bon Scott died- they are famous because he helped laid the groundwork, and Johnson got to capitalize on it- since Back in Black, which IMHO was the only worthwhile BJ record, now their stuff is so one-dimensional and boring!. With Bon, they were writing much stronger material, especially his clever lyrics- Jonson's lyrics are bar-band level juvenile!.
There are LOTS of bands writing songs like AC/DC!. And millions of great songs are based on 3-4 chords!. But AC/DC doesn't use much in the way of dynamics (ever hear an acoustic guitar!?), and keeps the rhythm section identical in every song- no challenging arrangements!. But lots of great writers use simple chord structures yet make interesting and challenging music- Bob Marley comes to mind!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

Maybe they use the same 4 or 5 chords but they have great solos and lyrics!. Its not like every sound sounds the same!.

They are fondly remembered for some excellent albums in the 70's and are usually excellent live, I haven't bought the latest album though, don't see the point!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
