What does this allen head bolt do ?!
Question: What does this allen head bolt do !?
What exactly does the allen head bolt do that is inside the neck of my guitar located at the very top by the nut !?Www@Enter-QA@Com
Answers:
that is the "truss rod" adjustment
if you don't know how to do it, DON"T touch it
it changes the tension of the truss rod, inside the neck,
it is used when your neck has "moved" , due to changes in humidity or temperature
Th e neck is made out of wood, which is affected by temperature changes, just like the doors and (some) windows in your house!.
The companies know this, so they put put the adjustment rod in the neck, so it can be straightened
You want to have someone do it, that has done a lot of necks, because I have seen people ruin their guitars, by turing it the wrong way, or too far!.
You need an adjustment, when the strings start to raise up, and get hard to play,
or drop down too low, and buzz on the fretboard!.
