Is Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata hard to play when I don't play piano?!

Question: Is Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata hard to play when I don't play piano!?
I play the violin, and I have just finished my grade eight (in UK)!.I don't play the piano, and I never have but the other week I decided to learn something, and I chose Beethovens "Moonlight Sonata" because I like it!. I have l learnt the entire piece from memory in a week and a half!. What I was wondering, is is this piece hard for someone who can read music, but not play piano!? Should I start practising piano!?
Any answers appreciated!.
Oh btw, I have just turned 16, if this makes any difference!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I am thinking that you mastered the first movement "Adagio sostenuto"!.
That is in the realm of normal for a music reader!. The 2nd and 3rd movements would be difficult for a non piano person!. If one knows fingering habits, the last movement, with its arpeggios is doable, the 2nd has odd syncopations that could trip up even a beginner piano student!.
If you enjoy it why not!? You seem to be a quick learner, if I assumed wrong, and you played the whole piece, all 3 movements; you got talent and definitely should take lessons!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

If I'm interpreting your question correctly, it would of necessity mean that some of your above responders didn't!.

You play the violin, but you don't play the piano - correct!?

You have committed the entire piece - all three movements - to memory; and you want to know if it's possible for you to play it on the piano, even though you don't know how to play the piano!.

Why are you asking us, and have not already experimented - tried to play it on the piano!?

My advice is that if you're really serious, your best option is to connect with a reputable piano teacher, and get their view on the matter!.

Without doing so, you might barely be able to get thru the 1st movement: but if you're smart, you want even attempt the 2nd and 3rd!.

Good luck,

i play it on piano and it's really easy, but i play like an hour or 2 every day
it's not your age that will make the difference, lol, it's how long you've played
well if you never played the piano it will be harder, because you won't be flexible enough and may have difficulties to reach for certain notes
try it, but at first it may hurt a bit, lol
even though it looks easy, playing the piano isn't

Keep in mind that on piano, you have to play both G clef and F clef at the same time!. (Treble and Bass clef!.) Moonlight Sonata is one of my favorite of Beethovens!. Yeah it's hard, but it's not impossible!.!.!.!. Definately start practicing piano!. also, Learning the keys will be a bit of a challenge!. Keep a pianist nearby or you might make BIG mistakes!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

it shouldnt be!. i play it on the piano and its not that hard!. if you mean that you want to play that on the violin and if it will work it should!. but the song itself is not hard and very easy to play!. if you want to try it on the piano go for it, idk what it may sound like on the violin but its fun to play on the pianoWww@Enter-QA@Com
