Honestly, smart and independent. Sometimes, I DO wish to be perceived as pretty because I want the boys to notice me and all that. But I believe being perceived as smart and independent opens more doors for you, as opposed to you opening your legs and getting nowhere.
i would love to be as pretty as some of the other girls, but im not. and i kno that being pretty doesnt get u as far as being smart would, but it would be a plus...

Well since you are referring to teens. Girls would like to be perceived as pretty. They want to "fit in" and some would like to be part of the "popular" crowd , be attractive to boys, try to emulate the magazines and celebrities. There are a bunch of things in todays society why girls want to feel and look pretty. Teenagers are more interested in feeling and looking pretty because it boosts their self esteem and are more confident. Later in life they become and care more about being smarter and independent.
