Wait, Wait, Wait for it... Oh! That time i chuged 2 liters of Diet Coke with mentos in it from the fizz that we wanted to make go really high. Couldn't eat much at Thanks Giving Dinner, i was to full from soda. But the fizz only went a few feet, and I would drink it like a founain! LOL
I haven't celebrated Thanksgiving since elementary school. But when I was a first grader a girl named Vanessa was on my mind night and day. Our class gave a little play on Thanksgiving about Pilgrims and Indians and whatnot. It started to drizzle a little, and I was sitting next to her and I put my hand above her face so the raindrops wouldn't fall on her. She rarely wanted to spend time with me because she was always playing with her three girlfriends, but I think it was a moment in my life when, full of the innocence, normalcy, and purity of childhood, I really did want nothing but to show someone else how much I cared.
I came from a family of incredibly wonderful cooks. I remember when my grandmother made delicious light rolls and my mother's sisters would cook the various dishes and my mother would cook dessert. Then they would playfully argue about who was the best cook. It was so funny because they could all throw down. They use to cook for the classic movie stars who lived on Balboa Bay. My family has deceased, now and I remember them all for the holidays they made so wonderful for the younger generation.
I have a weather memory of a Thanksgiving
October 12, 1998
I was cooking a ham
when I looked out the window it was snowing
The weight of the snow broke the branches from the tree
