Would you pay someone to decorate your Christmas tree for you?!
Question: I received a flyer from some company that was offering to decorate my Christmas tree. While that seems to be a very good idea given how busy some of us are during the holidays, half the fun of Christmas is in decorating the tree! What do you think?

I actually did that one year. It was a HORRIBLE experience. The first thing the company does is ask what are your specifications, your likes, and dislikes. My family and I thought that it was the ideal thing to do because one year because, as you said, we were all busy for the Holidays. We were uncertain that it would work out and that we would like the idea. But I cajoled, and argued that it sounded like a good thing to do. My family only agreed to this plan because no ONE person wanted to decorate the tree by themselves. The company promised that our tree would be ready by Christmas morning, and that the only thing we would have to do would be to pay the rest of the deposit that we had put down when first agreeing to this. It was a disaster! Our tree was not finished by Christmas, so when we came home from visiting my family and relatives in Oregon, we were totally SHOCKED to see that our tree STILL WASNT finished! Anyway, to make a long story short, we called the company, told them that we would no longer be needing their services, and that we wished to have at LEAST a partial payment back from our contract. Well, they did agree to that, and we received some of our money back. Needless to say that we went without a Christmas tree that year because it was just too late to set one up. My advice: If it cant be done yourself, don't have someone else do it.

I wouldn't pay someone to do that, but I love to decorate the tree with my family, it is part of our yearly tradition.

i wonder if theyd do it perfectly like the trees on tv or just throw stuff on?
decorating the tree is a family event in my house so something like that wouldn't work for me.
perhaps someone like a lawyer would find that useful

Heck no! I love doing it and i don't want strangers touching my stuff and I don't want someone else's ideas of a pretty tree in my house! I think that is for the really rich and busy and businesses.
You got it! You have to admire them for coming up with the concept and actually I can imagine loads of people thinking wow, what a great time saver and decorated by a professional too!!! It's a sign of the times huh? As you said it's one of the simple pleasures left at Christmas. Watching my boys turn it into a heap of junk always brings a tear to my eye!
no i wouldn't, it takes out all the fun out of it. also in my family its kinda a special thing, like a family bonding thing i guess.

I agree with you. I think you'd have to be either filthy rich, or just crazy to pay someone to decorate the tree for you.
if you were me you would when i decorate my tree it looks like i did it drunk this is every year this happens when i look at trees in the mall or other places i wish i could decorate like that so yes i would love to have someone else do my decorating
I wouldn't want anyone in my house when I am not home, and second of all I like to put up my Christmas Tree. Like someone else said I may pay for someone to decorate the outside of my house and to take it down.
Decorating the tree yourself is the best part!
no i think i family should do it i personally love decorating tree and it only comes once a year that you have to do this plus why would you wanna let strange men or whomever in your house but if your busy then its very convenient
i don't think so i mean decorating the tree is something you should do i mean unless if your liek so busy to teh point were you can't then maybe not but puting up the tree is something you do with family you know it's liek a family tradition and what if the peoples don't do it the way you want it why pay someone for that?

NO WAY i love decorating the christmas tree
Personally I love decorating my tree with my family. It brings us together for a couple of hours that we are usually too busy or in our own worlds to spend together. Its nice having a little bit of time with my family and it is fun.
I wouldn't pay anybody.... that is my childrens job then after that we eat pizza and drink hot coco traditions never need to be broken
I enjoy it so much that I would be willing to go in business doing it but no way would I let anyone touch my Christmas stuff..You should see the pictures
