Do you ever call and leave messages......?!
Question: on a family cell or home phone even when nothing is new or important, just to make their day? I do, I have a 2 yr. old grandson and my daughter told me when she gets home from work with him, and checks her answering machine, his face lights up when he hears a message just for him from Grandma, saying, Hi Dominic, how are you?

I use to call and talk to my dog in the middle of the day. I knew she was home alone and would be lonely, so I would leave her a message on the machine, so she could hear my voice.

Yes, when my best friend had her baby I called and left messages for the baby, like "Hey Rose, it's Jo - just seeing what's up, how life is in a diaper. Tell your mom I said hi."

sometimes on house phones i do hate when someone has a cell phone and never answers it and it goes to voice mail

I call my mom every day just to say Hi, and tell her that I love her, even if that is all I have to say.
That's so sweet! No, if I have no message, I don't leave one. I don't like it when I have a missed call, I know to call the person back, and I have to use minutes to check my messages just to hear, "Hey, call me back!". If I wanted to leave something funny or meaningful like you, then I would, but in my case, I find it irritating.

Yeah. I usually talk to my mom everyday. If I call and she's not there I usually leave a message asking how her day is going and to call me when she gets a chance.

Never used to...but these days I will call my gf (of five months) on her cell, and if she doesn't answer, I'll leave an "I love you" message....sometimes I call when I know she won't answer, so I can leave a message like that.
Yeah, that's probably not the most adult thing to do, but we make each other feel like we're seventeen again. ---<sigh>---it's a wonderful feeling.
my grandfather has called the his house when i was there, just me and the dog, and told me not to answer when he called back so he could say hi to the dog. Hey, he's old and that dog his his best friend. she loves it, barks and whines and looks for him in all the rooms, its kinda cute.
it helps i have a few times just to see my mother light up........
