Poll: What do you do when?!
Question: When you are talking to a person you just met and find out you have some place or thing in common. They ask you if you know so and so. Cause they just love that person. You do know them but you hate that person's guts. Are you honest or do you lie?

I say, of course, that I know them. If I can get away with it, I won't elaborate on it. But, if they ask me, I will be completely honest. It takes a BAD person to get on my bad side, so this person should be warned. And, if they don't like what I have to say, then screw it. Birds of a feather flock together, so I wouldn't want the new person in my life anyway, if he/she chooses to associate with a "toxic person".

I tell them that I know the person, but I usually keep my opinion of them to myself.

I'd say yes, I know them and then I'd not say anything else. If they asked me what I thought of the person, I'd probably try to be honest without being tacky and say something like we just don't seem to see eye-to-eye on a lot of things but variety is what makes the world turn..
To be quite truthful, I can't think of one person I truly hate. There are some I have no respect for or don't agree with or don't want to associate with for all kinds of reasons, but "hate" is such a strong word. I love most everyone. Just gotta try to see everyone's point of view on things and learn from it.
