Granny Smith and Golden Delicious
For home growing, I have two apple trees - Howgate Wonder and James Grieve. This year some of the Howgate Wonder apples were weighing in at almost a pound a-piece and much better flavour than Bramleys. You can use JG and HW just to eat (lovely dipped in honey) without cooking.
Shop purchased ones - Braeburn (not French, preferably New Zealand or South African) and English Cox's in the Autumn.
Worcesters are lovely for about 2 weeks into the Season - freshly harvested from a Farm Shop; a good early English apple but they don't keep.
any locally grown apples
Golden Delicious
Golden delicious. Does Adam apple count?
If you want a special treat and can find a little yellow apple called a "Tollman Apple" don't pass it up. It is the sweetest apple that I ever tasted and it gets sweeter the longer you chew it. It is over 50% natural sugar and has almost an anise flavor.
You will probably have to get them at a faire or picnic resort where the farmers bring them in fresh. I usually get them at Old World Wisconsin.
Fuji
Pacific Rose and Golden Delicious.
