When you were a child, did you call small injuries "boo boos"?!
Question: This is actually a real word. During the spread of the bubonic plague throughout Europe, the boils that covered the body were called "buboes." You can see how easily the word became "boo-boos."

No. It was an "owie".
Yep and so does my 2 year old because it was easy for him to learn and say. He can come to me, hold out his hand and say, "Boo boo," and I know automatically that he hit his hand and that I should kiss it.
I did back then an I still do today

no, my mommy did
I can't remember what I called them as a child, but that is what I call them now. I am sure that doctors have a Latin term for them but I bet if you translated from the Latin to English, it would be found to mean "boo boo".
