Answers:

Since when is it wrong to expect your teenage children to actually do work? They are running a working farm, mom is a teacher and dad works out of an office selling stools and is a software programmer. Work needs to get done and when you have perfectly capable children of doing, let them. It isn't like they don't get compensated. Matt is always pulling out a roll of bills to pay the boy's friends, etc. If they were being slaved, do you think you would see the same kids every week? Matt and Amy have the 'cool' house to hang, and these kids know if they chip in, they get paid, so where is the problem?
