Eddie Izzard in The Riches?!
Question: Do they not have any American actors available for this show? Am I alone in hating English actors adopting fake American accents for these shows? You would think there were an abundance of actual Americans that could have been used instead.

I don't mind it when it's done well. I never would have known that Hugh Laurie or Rachel Griffiths or even that girl playing the new Bionic Women were British if I hadn't been told. But Eddie Izzard and Minnie Driver are so bad at it, that it distracts you from the actual storyline because you can't stop paying attention to how bad it is. Even when their "covers" were to have a British accent, it sounded fake.

without us Brits you wont get any awards for the shows you make.
It is not nearly as embrassing as watching Kevin Costner in Prince of Thieves playing an english man with a US accent.

the only tihng i will say on this topic is that apart from gwinneth paltrow , who can actually say they have heard a decent english accent from an american? plus americans cant do south african accents - re. leo decaprio in blood diamonds...need i say more? but this is just my opinion...
