it was a paper submitted to Mode and betty got it by mistake the woman who wrote it showed up at betty's desk pregnant and with half an ear! and told she was going to sue, betty tried to explain an apoligize but the woman wouldn't have so daniel swooped in and offered her double what the other paper was offering and then daniel talked to betty and oh! he is soooo cute! then betty read her real paper in front of the class and all but one guy laughed (but he kinda looked like a stoner) and smiled ecouragingly at her and it ended.

It was a ladies true story that she sold to Mode so that they could publish it. Daniel handed it to Betty earlier in the day and it was in her bag along with her story about not going to her prom. When she set her bag on the podium it fell down and the papers all fell out. When she picked them up the bear attack story was on top. She began reading it by accident but the professor liked it so much he had her continue before she could explain. The professor then showed it to another magazine and they wanted to publish it. Betty convinced them not to by telling them that she worked for Mode and she couldn't have her work published in another magazine because she would be fired. The real author of the story found out about it. She came to the office and confronted Betty about it. She threatened to sue both Betty and Daniel. Daniel took the blame for it and promised her they would pay her double for her story if she didn't sue them. She agreed. Betty then had to explain the situation to Daniel and he gave her a pep talk. At the very end Betty told the class the truth and read her prom story.
