no, my parents didn't call me that. we just didn't get in their way, or it would have been trouble. but i remember saying to my own kids, when they got in front of the tv, i know you are a pain [pane], but you are not made of glass!
I only once remember my mother asking us all to shut up because she only watched this series once and it was the final part, I had friends and relations in and she refused to let us speak which was totally out of character. She was fed up with not getting any privacy in her own house - now I know because I sometimes feel the same. Gobssshite, is now a popular term of abuse but your dad probably calls everyone that if he is fed up. Its not nice, but we all do it.

No, they said "I can't see through your head!" and then told me that sitting close to the tv would cause me to have poor vision. Now I say the same stuff to my kids....LOL

dad was not about then and mum too busy bringing me and sis up.We were roaming all day long,greek schoolls dont have these silly half terms,just one big 3 month summer holiday.Only see the house for sleep at night.Food??? plenty fields around with everything,oh yessss.Some days we lived on apples other days on letucce and other days on watermellons !! When I was a kid we had no telly. I have heard that expression here in Ireland. It is very common.
