Why have writers gone on stirke?!

Question: I am referring to those who write for television and movie's - how long have they been on strike and what was the main reason why they went on strike? Does anyone know if this strike has actually affected all of the television shows and movies? Also, does anyone know how long this strike will affect TV shows?

They went on strike for more money. They want a % of DVD sales. It has affected a lot of shows. A lot of shows have started running reruns because they do not have any new scripts. The strike started on Nov 5th.

They want money... plus they feel unapreciated....they think they are equals to the actors who play their writings.... so its both a financial and a pride issue......

Who cares? Let them strike. Hopefully, that will make more people turn their stupid TV's off and get a life.
