I hope not, I love that show its so addictive and is set in a world that is so much like a fairy tale with a slick of reality. Josh Swartz ( I think thats how its spell ) always had more than 20 episodes per season for the O.C so I think Gossip Girl is no exception, but nowadays most shows only go up to a very small amount so that might happen to gossip girl, dont worry though even if it does it might return for a second season.
Apparently the writers for the TV show 'Gossip Girl' went on strike. But usually writers write about 6 episodes in advance.
Gossip girl is confirmed 1 season of 22 episodes but I'm not sure about a 2nd season
Unfortunately, although a full season was ordered (it was the first season to have a full season ordered...http://community.tvguide.com/blog-entry/... ), the writers went on strike after writing only 13 episodes, so unless the strike ends within the next month or two and they can go back to creating more scripts (unlikely given the latest talk breakdowns) which would probably take about two months from start to airing, then that 13 episodes will be all for this season.
Here is a list of how many episodes are left to air of popular shows due to the writers' strike. There are only a few shows (mid-season ones like Jericho and ones with held over episodes from last year like Men in Trees) that have more than a few episodes left, unfortunately.
