I don't think they've hired anyone yet. Last I heard, Susan Haskell , the original Marty wasn't signed on. I don't know if they're looking for another NEW actress. I would think if the fans/viewers didn't like CHristine Chambers (I did like her) they wouldn't hire anyone else but Susan.

The last I heard is they were trying to get Susan Haskell back. I don't think she's signed on though.
There hasn't been any decision made to as wether they will even bring her back. It is clear that a recast did not work so if they can woo Susan Haskell back then Marty will return but there has been no word yet.
Wow -- I haven't watched for aw hile - I did hear the Marty was killed off but didn't know whe was coming back -- That will be very interesting...

I haven't read anything about that yet, I've heard that they would like to try and get the original actress back to play the part, but as far as I know, they haven't even said that they were gonna recast Marty yet, have they? I really think they will though.
