Questions for fans of American sitcoms...?!
Question: Which show do you think is better, "According to Jim" or "Still Standing?" If you think SS is better, why do you think it only ran for 4 years and ATJ has been running from 2001-present?

"Still Standing" was more realistic so therefore they had to take it off the air. All the good shows get the axe. It's a shame. Neither one are precedents of comedy but still. As much as I like Jim Belushi (I'm a Chicagoan, and I'm happy to know that atleast both of the shows take place in Chicago) but I prefer "Still Standing". The way they made everything look so real was what stood out for me. "According to Jim" you instantly know and feel like they're on a set and soundstage. The way Jim's wife acts is not how the typical wife acts. The show is considered "cute". I want "funny", that's what you're striving for. "Still Standing" breaks the rules a little bit. There's not always a sappy 'Brady Bunch' ending that ends with everyone smiling and getting their way. SS just hits home for me. And the characters remind me of a lot of the people I know. I think the producers and casting agents surely did their jobs!!! But unfortunately I think people want to see the same "happy" crap as usual. SS tells it like it is..lol
I think both are terrible-- neither is a sit-com classic, in my opinion. The only thing that Acc. to Jim might have over SS is that the female lead character actually has some integrity and maturity to counteract the husband's lack of these. In SS, both the husband and the wife are jerks.
