Lots of people can carry guns on planes. It's a t.v. show they can do whatever they want.

air marshalls are allowed to carry their guns. other government agencies like the fbi, us marshalls etc can carry guns if disclosed by the government official. besides that, you can pack your own gun in your checked baggage as long as it is not loaded and again "checked".
