Is there a point to ABC's "Lost" ? If so, what is it?!
Question: This show is in the tradition of the great cliff hanger! This goes back to the days of seeing the 5 cent movies of Flash Gordon. They give you just enough information to keep you interested and not enough to figure out what is going to happen. Each week they add a little more information but still never giving away the whole picture. It keeps you coming back for more a real smart gimmick!

I think the point of Lost is that you can never be too sure what life is really all about. There may be some things you don't know are out and you shouldn't assume because you'll regret it if you're wrong.

Of course there is! I'm not gonna sit here and go into detail about this amazing show with you, but I can tell you that if you watched from the beginning of the series, you wouldn't be asking this question right now!
Don't let all the "Twilight Zone" mystery throw you off - in many ways the island in "Lost" is a microcosm of our own world. One of the major themes is that like our world, the island is populated by people of many beliefs, backgrounds and cultures. In the long run anything an individual may do or say has a ripple effect on others and the world - and this may build to conflicts. Do we work to settle these conflicts to the benefit of all, or do we let them destroy us? Outside of that, another theme could be to what point do we mess with nature before we've gone too far?
