Question: This is a GENERAL HOSPITAL question. What will happen to the character of SONNY if his love, KATE, is the one that ends up dead? Also, Carly, now pregnant, is shown in the coming attractions ad as also in peril: Is CARLY more likely to be the fatality than KATE? By the way, is it too late for the CLAUDIA character to be "killed off" and SARAH BROWN to return to GH in the role she originated: i.e., to return as CARLY?

you have alot of questions in this, but in answer to your original question "will Sonny cope?"....... simply put.....NO
Sonny has a bi-polar condition that won't allow him to be able to cope with the death of Kate, because he loves her. Or with the act of Michael shooting Kate. Or if anything would happen to Carly. He will lose it. We'll see Sonny go thru some major negative transformation for awhile.
She isn't going to die, Carly is going to "die" and then be saved.
Carly will have a near death experience and go to heaven! Why all these characters think they're going to heaven I'll never get. We just did this dying thing with Luke! I think Trevor may finally meet his end and maybe Mariana-there's really no need for her. Claudia hasn't done anything yet! She is just getting started! Kate won't die on the waterfront, she's just out of the hospital from a gunshot!
If Kate dies, Sonny will just move on to the next young brunette. It's nothing we haven't seen before.
I'd love it if Carly were killed off, but I don't think that's going to happen now that Guza's back from the strike. She of the glittery hoo-ha will reign supreme once more, and I'll probably get disgusted and stop watching within a month.
I think it's too late for Sarah Brown to return as Carly, not because she's playing Claudia, but because the character of Carly has changed a lot in the past few years and SB no longer fits the role. SB is excellent as a tough-as-nails yet vulnurable type, but that's not who Carly is anymore. She's a middle-aged mom of soon-to-be 3, including a young teenager. As much as I hate the character, Laura Wright does very well in the role.
Carly is going to die and go to her own heaven, like Luke did when he had his heart attack. Not sure what's gonna happen to her baby though.
I highly doubt they will kill off Carly. Maybe her baby, but not Carly. Kate may die, she isnt going to be a good wife/girlfriend for Sonny. Ultimately, she cant approve of his lifestyle. I am tired of Sonny's rage though. Jason should take over the gang.
Kate isnt going to die. so the world will never know...atleast not for now.
If Kate was killed off, I think Sonny would need to be institionalized for awhile. I think he'd lose what's left of his mind. Although, he has gone through loss before. He may end up just becoming a recluse (like dear old Anthony Z) and throw his barware at the wall, like Sonny of old.
I don't think Carly is likely to end up as a fatality. She's too much of a central character. Heck, they've had 4 different people come in and play Carly over the years. Carly is not going anywhere, anytime soon.
I haven't heard anything about Laura Wright leaving GH so I think your question about Sarah Brown coming back as Carly is probably a bit far-fetched. And yeah, it is too soon for Sarah Brown to ditch her role as Claudia and play Carly. Too much time and effort has been put into cultivating Claudia's character, and I've read interviews from Sarah Brown herself, that she too this role b/c she was interested in playing Claudia. So, I don't think that would happen, even if Laura left.
