David Cook should not win American Idol?!
Question: Now, before you blow a gasket, consider this:
He gave THE best performance last night, hands down. Every week he’s getting better and better and in my opinion has become the one to beat, not annoying David A. Plus, he doesn’t talk back nearly as much as he did when he was in top 24. He’s original, genuinely talented and honestly I think he would get more “credit” if he didn’t win.
Plus, it seems like a dark cloud follows the Idol winners, I don't know. Since Carrie Underwood won, alot of other past winners had so-so success, or worse got dropped from their record label.
If craybaby Josiah Lemming can get a record deal, why not David? He could drop out of the competition right now and sign with any label he wants.
I’m just saying, I think he’s too “good” for American Idol at this point.

lol. man i was about to slap a hoe when i read this question. but now that ive read wut u wrote i can see where your coming from.
one reason why i dont think he should just drop outta the competition is because some people already seem to "have a problem with his attitude" from the beginning of the show, so him just dropping out will just seem like hes overly cocky and has a huge ego.
i mean yeah hes amazing and hes my favorite on american idol by far but he should still stay in the competition because this show is watched by practically everyone (an exaggeration ofcourse) and if hes getting better and better, then he should have the opportunity to show it off and maybe someone will give him the most amazing record deal before the show even ends.
and who knows, he might not even win american idol.
and plus, even though alot of idol winners are carrying around that "black cloud" there are alot of people who came in 2nd and tried to make albums that sucked. like blake lewis for example.

Well, since he is already in the competition. I think he should win. I'll still vote for him. Either him or Carly Smithson or Michael Johns. I'll be spilting my votes between the 3 of them until one of them wins. One of them should win.

I don't think David Cook can win. I just don't think he is popular enough and I don't think he should want to win. He will get picked up no matter what and i think he will do better if he doesn't win.
I think that if he was voted off he most deffinatley could get a deal but I think that He should win no one on the show is better than him and there isn't a curse if you win it just hasn't worked in the past I'm sure David will do fine whatever happens
You're right, he is way too good for American Idol, but who's to say he won't have the same success as Kelly Clarkson or Carrie Underwood? I think it all depends on the artist, and I think he is one of the good ones, I would like to see him win.
I definitely agree that he's too good for American Idol. Im about 100% sure that he'd sell more records than the winner of AI this season even if he didnt win. But I also think that, as everyone says, AI is a great platform and it really prepares the contestants for what's out there in the music world.
I just dont think its time for him to go yet. Maybe it'll be better if he comes second or third.
None of them are too good for AI at this point. THey all should be grateful for the exposure. I think if David Cook ever needs a defense attorney, he should hire you.
I agree. I want David Archuleta to win because he annoys the crap out of me and hopefully he'll end up like past winners who didn't get so far (Taylor Hicks...Ruben...Fantasia)
I love David Cook ,though, and he IS too good for this competition. Chris Daughtry didnt win American Idol, and I hear his songs on the radio more than Kelly Clarkson! I bet David Cook will be just as good as Daughtry even if he doesn't win!
Same goes for my favorite, Jason Castro. He's so talented, laid back, and I love his voice and style. OBVIOUSLY he's not going to win, but i'm hoping he'll sign with a label because I WANT TO BUY HIS ALBUM!
I think it would be awfully stupid for him to leave the competition now.

david cook hasnt had a bad permformance yet.. I love his originality....he is my fav. after him i would say David A.. i dont really have any fav. from the girls... It used to be Asiah and Syesha.. but Syesha hasnt impressed me much lately... David will get a record deal... wins or looses...guaranteed...he is tooooo good!!!
Crybaby Josiah? Oh my. Have you no heart? Anyway, I want David Cook to win. I think he will actually go somewhere with his music, unlike the others who would probably fall flat.
He is really good, I just get tired of the same blowout rock performance every week. Has he ever NOT sung a rock song? Even Chris Daughtry has some slower songs with some melody. I would like to hear that from David Cook to prove he's worthy and not just a Daughtry wannabe. I agree...he will get a deal, no doubt about it...whether he wins or not.
I LOVE DAVID COOK! I think he's brilliant in every way. He gives a great performance and I enjoy watching him. No matter how he got a record deal, being on his own or from Idol, I would definitely buy it.
I am sorry but he will not win because he is a rocker which automatically makes him limited in different styles. He has not done one other thing other than rock...not well rounded so he will not be popular enough to win. If you anyone wants a rocker, look at Carly. Now there is the WHOLE package

If he becomes more humble, he has a chance. Last night he seemed to act better, not full of himself like he usually is. He has talent and his fan base would increase if his attitude improves..
Original? I don't know about that. There are a lot of wanna-be rockstars that sound so much like him.

I see where you are coming from. It has gotten to the point on this show that it doesn't matter if he wins the show or not, because there will be a record deal waiting for him anyway. He is the only contestant this season that I would pay money to see in concert or buy their album.
I agree! I LOVE David Cook! He is one of my favorites and I think he is a great talent! What you are saying about the idol winners is so true! I mean look at so many of the idol "non winners" and how far they have gone! He can for sure get some sort of deal, people will be knocking his door down!
i absolutely love david cook! he has an amazing voice and i love him!!! i agree that if he doesnt win then he will definately be better off... and he will probably be like chris daughtry. i never thought he was cocky.. he is the only talent on the show and he should win
