She was unconscious? She had amnesia? Didn't they say in the story?
She had breathing tubes in her and couldn't talk. She was unconscious for a long time.
Unconscious, I believe. Sad story, can you imagine sitting by a bedside for 5 weeks and then you find out it was not your daughter. The other parents are grieving for 5 weeks and they were not at the hospital, helping their daughter. Almost unbelievable. Good question.
The girl was unconscious and hooked up to a respirator. She wasn't able to speak for 5 weeks. The doctors told the parents she'd look a little different so they didn't suspect anything. How horrible for those people.
She had a head injury, her body was swollen, she was uncousious and had a breathing tube also.
Every head injury is different. You have memory loss, some is permanent and some will come back over time. Some may never come back. The neurons in your head need to heal. You need to remember also the family was also going through alot of different emotions also at this moment. She was in a terrible accident and her chances of survival were slim. She was swollen and covered up in bandages and she was given many medications to keep her alive as well as comfortable.
Everyone really should watch the special tomorrow night and hear their side of the story and it will answer alot of why questions. You just need to remember that each family handles tragedy different. Each head injury is different and just because someone walks and talks doesn't mean there is not anything wrong with them. Recovery involves alot of rehab both mentally and physically for both patient and family and continues the rest of your life.
I would live to meet her in person as I live very close to the family
I watched it too and that was soo sad..what an emotional roller coaster for those families..
