I thought it was one of the best episodes so far! Donna was re-introduced brilliantly. We left her having just made the completely mad decision to not travel with the lonely Doctor, and we found her trying to find him, obviously regretting her decision immensely.

The episode was also a great one to set off the series. The first episodes are always slightly light-hearted and a lot of fun and this one was extremely funny what with the Doctor and Donna being on the exact same wave length but missing each other so many times. The scene where they caught sight of each other was so fantastically acted! It was the funniest and most entertaining bit of television I have ever seen.

You cringed at the "Fat just walks off you" but I think that was the good thing about this episode, it was very childish and cliquéd and cringeworthy. It made it easy to watch and introduced us back into the world of Doctor Who with a gentle push whereas VOTD was a very strong emotional story shoved right in you face, which in my opinion, didn't work particularly well.

It mentioned in the DWM that the creatures in this episode would be a little unusual and they were certainly right! But how cute are the Adipose?! It makes a change from the big scary monsters with the intention to kill. They were just innocent little creatures made of fat with a very adorable tooth.

The emotion was played really well too I thought. We all thought the Doctor was a bit of a womaniser, but we see in this episode all he wants is a friend, he is lonely. He really liked Martha but things got slightly awkward because of the unrequited love thing going on and he just wants to be free from all of that. Donna expresses beautifully in a way only Donna could do how she really isn't going down the I'm-in-love-with-the-Doctor route with the line "You ain't mating with me sunshine." She just missed him as a friend.

As for Rose, well none of us saw that coming! It was certainly a surprised. I actually screamed and fell off the sofa when I saw her! And then she disappeared... It was the perfect cliffhanger, that is for sure.

Quick overall review:

General brilliance - 10/10
Cheesyness - 8/10
Cringeworthyness - 5/10
DT face pulling - 10/10
Script - 9/10 (some brilliant lines)
Acting - 10/10 (for everyone except the journalist who kept getting tied up, she was rubbish)
Stunts and special effects - 8/10
Fear Factor - 3/10 (It really wasn't that scary at all)

i loved it so did my son, i loved the end as well when you seen rose oh it's going to get even better cant wait

I don't like Catherine Tate much. But then I never did.
Mr Tennant was as gorgeous as ever.
The storyline was ok, the best bit being ROSE APPEARING AT THE END!!!!! EEE!!
