I'm pretty sure it was the last episode of the first season!. She showed up at the hospital and saw Meredith with McDreamy!. She then addressed him as her husband and Meredith was SHOCKED!. we first saw her episode 9 of season 1, who's zoomin who, and then she became a regular in season 2!. She left grey's at the end of season 3, and now has her own spin-off private practice!. She came back to seattle grace in season 4 for one episode!.
