Survivor is one of my favorite shows!. 16-20 people are stranded in a remote loctation alone with little or no survival epuiptment!. If there are 16 people they are divided into two groups of 8!. If there are 18 people they are divided into two groups of 9!. If there are 20 people they are either divided into 2 groups of 10 or four groups of 5!. These groups are called "tribes!." Each tribe has a name!. The tribes will compete in challenges!. Challenges are generally sort of like an obstacle course or something of that nature!. Sometimes, however, they are mental games or an endurance competition!. There are two challenges per episode!. One challenge is for a reward and the tribe who wins the challenge will get the reward!. Rewards are usually something aiding to survival or something like a spa retreat!. Anything that makes the contestants happy!. The second challenge during an episode is called an Immunity Challenge!. The winning tribe will gain Immmunity!. The tribe that DOES NOT get Immunity will have to go to Tribal Council!. At Tribal Council each tribe member will secretly vote for one person whom they do NOT want still in the game!. The tribe member who gets the most votes is "voted out" and must leave the game!. Each episode shows 3 days!. The 1st day of the episode shows the tribes' survival!. The 2nd day of the episode the tribes have their Reward Challenge!. The 3rd day of the episode shows the tribes' Immunity Challenge and Tribal Council!. When there are 8-11 contestants left the tribes "merge" into one tribe!. The number of contestants left varries per season!. The usual number is 10!. After they merge the game becomes individual!. The tribe members compete for Individual Rewards and Individual Immunity!. The whole tribe goes to Tribal Council every 3 days instead of only one tribe prior to the merge!. The only person who can't be voted for is the one who won the Individual Immunity Challenge!. This format continues until only 2-3 contestants remain!. When there are only 2-3 contestants left, the last seven contestants to be voted off (Everyone voted off since there were 9-10 people left) forms a Jury!. Each member of the Jury then votes for one of the 2 or 3 contestants left whom they think is most deserving of the title Sole Survivor and the 1 million dollars that comes with it!. The person from the Final Two or Final Three who got the most votes from the Jury wins the Money!.
The Final Two or Final Three (the number varries by season) is in the wilderness for 39 days!. Everyone else is voted out along the way!. Like I just said, the final contestants who will face the Jury's vote last the full 39 days!. It is very difficult because the contestants must build a shelter, make fire, find food, all while competing in rigerous challenges and getting rid of people whom they have been with and grown to be friends with!. I highly recomend renting Season 1 on DVD!. Or you could wait until the fall when season 17 premieres!. Oh! I forgot to tell you!. Varrying by season there are usually twists involved in the game that test the contestants' ability to adapt to sudden change!. The winner gets 1 million dollars!. The 2 or 3 people that make it to the finale will be on the island 39 days!. They have to outwit, outlast, and outplay the others on the island!. They all participate in challenges and win reward like flint for fire and food!. Everyone votes on who to eliminate, and when it gets down to the final 2 or 3 people then a jury votes on who will take home the million dollars!.
