Mike O!. and Rose D!. basically gave you the reasons why!.!.!.after February 19, 2009, the waveform (NTSC) style of TV broadcast signal is due to be shut down and repaced with full-time digital (ATSC) broadcasting!.
Cable and satellite subscribers have nothing to worry about but if you recieve regular over-the-air TV with an antenna, you need to either consider cable/satellite sevice or purchase a converter box (the link below has more information about digital television and the goverment discount program for the converter boxes)!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Your TV runs on an analog signal (basically a wave form)!. Next year they are switching over to all digital signals (basically a dot dash dot form)!. You can get a coupon for a free box that you can set on top of your tv that will convert the digital signal to analog for you!.

This only applies if you receive a signal over the air!. If you have cable or satellite then you're fine because the box provided takes care of everything for you!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
